Chef and proprietor Michael Mauschbaugh will celebrate the official groundbreaking of Sous Beurre Kitchen’s brick and mortar shop with a special five-course dinner Friday. Although the one-time pop up won’t open its more permanent doors until early spring, you’ll get a sneak peek at their affordable French cuisine offered during the special dinner. The seasonal five-course menu will include Drakes Bay Oysters on the Half Shell, Shaved Zucchini and Herbed Salad, Poached Cornish Game Hen, Seared Pork Tenderloin, and Vanilla Brioche Custard. Cat's Head BBQ is kicking off their second anniversary by hosting San Francisco's First Annual Rib-Off. There will be BBQ, music and beer from 101 North Brewing Co. The official Rib-Off starts at 3:00 p.m. with a winner announced shortly after. There will also be CatHead Biscuit Eating Contests throughout the event for anyone who can stomach it. Commemorate the Land Down Under with an Australia Day wine tasting event at Mandarin Oriental. Enjoy all you can eat sausage rolls, Tim Tams and Vegemite sandwiches, and if you're still hungry there will also be Australian Meat Pies available for purchase. Wednesday, January 29

Sit down for dinner and drinks with Chad Robertson to celebrate the release of Tartine Book No. 3. The evening will begin with drinks, snacks and the opportunity to meet Robertson and have him sign your book (which will be available for purchase at the event). In honor of Chinese New Year, Chef Kathy Fang of Fang Restaurant has created a special menu that incorporates culturally significant, traditional ingredients and dishes. Decked out in red and gold for the occasion, Fang Restaurant will be offering Radish Cakes with Plum Sauce and Sesame Dressing (to represent growth), Golden Bowl, a Japanese pumpkin soup with prawns and meatballs (to represent bounty), Eight Treasure Salad (to represent prosperity) and Sesame Noodles (to illustrate long life). Americano Restaurant is rejoicing over Dungeness crab season with their 5th Annual Crab and Champagne Dinner overlooking San Francisco’s waterfront. The annual dinner party features Chef Kory Stewart’s three-course family-style menu, paired with sparkling wine selections from Moet White Star. Free pizza for a year! Forge Pizza in Jack London Square is celebrating its one-year anniversary with a party open to the public on January 30. Forge Pizza in Danville (which just opened) is getting in on the festivities by giving away free pizza to 100 lucky customers. Throughout the month of January, Forge has collected names of those interested in winning this awesome prize, and on Thursday the champions will be revealed. The F*** Your New Year’s Resolution Party hosted by BrokeAss Stuart and Johnny Funcheap boasts a hosted bar by Glen Grant scotch from 9:00 - 10:00 p.m., samples from Fera'wyns Artisan Chocolates, and a visit from the Bacon Bacon truck.
