When it comes to microbrew and music, SF has long been a pacesetter for the rest of the nation. Plenty of brewers head to clubs in their off-hours, and everyone knows musicians can't resist a pint (or five), but the two industries haven't joined forces much-- until now. Popular music blog The Bay Bridged is bringing together four local bands and nine NorCal breweries for an all-day extravaganza at the Verdi Club this Saturday, with unlimited sampling and unlimited rocking out.

On the band side, post-punkers Weekend (above) will headline, with support from psychedelic rockers Sleepy Sun, supersized dub-rock squadron Extra Classic, and the Ramones-esque power-pop trio Terry Malts.

City Beer Store is curating an equally strong lineup of suds, with strong representation from SF Brewers' Guild members: 21st Amendment, Anchor, Beach Chalet, Magnolia, Speakeasy, and Social Kitchen & Brewery will all be on hand. They're also bringing in a few ringers from the East and North Bays, including Lagunitas, Marin Brewing Co., and Drake's.

Tickets to the bacchanal are $45 in advance ($55 at the door), and include all the beer you can taste, plus a commemorative mug to sip it from. If you're feeling peckish, Rosamunde will have sausages for sale. The event starts at 2 and ends by 7, so you won't have to skip any of your Saturday-night plans-- though you may want to reconsider if they include a bar crawl.
