On Thursday, February 4, get your ice cream on at a special Gelateria Naiagelato preview at their Berkeley shop from 6-9 p.m.. Sample 22 (!) new flavors made in collaboration with some of our favorite local business, including Numi tea, Blue Bottle, Recchiuti and Tcho Chocolates and St. George Spirits.

Snacks and drinks for five bucks

Every weeknight from 5-8 p.m., Medjool is offering a sweet extended happy hour featuring five different tapas and five glasses of wine, all priced at $5 apiece. Gather a group of friends and get in on the action.

Get your pig on at Ground Hog Day

Live Culture and Blue Bottle have teamed up to present Ground Hog Day on February 6. Pre-order your ten pound share of pork (25% each bacon and chops, 50% sausage; $70) and pick it up on Saturday at Blue Bottle in Oakland, where grilled goodies will herald your arrival.

On February 9 Michael Pollan, Willow Rosenthal (founder of City Slicker farms) and Gil Friend, CEO of Natural Logic, will be gathering to discuss the future of American delis. Can retro cuisine exist in the Bay Area in the era of logic and sustainable? Can we look at nostalgia critically? A $10 ticket will get you in on the conversation.

Handmade truffles for Valentine’s Day!
