Brilliant Earth Jewelry

By

Thanks to our annual green issue (just hitting news stands), we happily came across several worthy fashion and beauty brands that are doing their part to keep consumers–and the earth–beautiful. One SF company that’s gaining national exposure for taking a bold eco-conscious leap in the realm of jewelry is Brilliant Earth, which uses renewed or recycled platinum and gold, and sources its conflict-free diamonds from Canadian mines.

Founders and business partners Beth Gerstein and Eric Grossberg, two Stanford business school grads, consider themselves “social entrepreneurs” and for good reason. They keep in close contact with their mining sources to ensure the diamonds are third-party certified, and donate 5% of their profits toward helping African mining communities who have suffered from unethical practices. We love not only their custom pieces that range from antique to modern settings, but also their mission to change the industry by educating the masses. To celebrate Earth Day, they’re also offering a complimentary green sapphire embedded on the inside of all engagement rings ordered through April.
