Crème de le Crème

My idea of a perfect weekday morning: a leisurely breakfast while reading the paper at Myth Café (large coffee and a fat slice of banana “monkey” bread, please) followed by a decadent hours-long mani-pedi at the nearby Le Crème in Jackson Square. The reality? Me, hopping out of a cab, slightly waterlogged from the drizzle to scope out the spa and squeeze in a treatment before rushing back to the office for a meeting.
The good news is that even if you arrive in said frazzled work mode, the airy, blissful, and ultra-girlie space will instantly calm you. Opened just a few weeks ago by Rome-transplant Roberto Scaccia and business partner Sam Leung, Le Crème is all about French country shabby chic. (Think white-washed walls, wooden floors, cotton-canvas slip-covered armchairs, floral paintings and ruffled throw pillows). This new sister location to the original in the Fillmore district is perfect for the harried FiDi/Jackson Square business crowd, offering a menu of typical day spa services including hand and foot therapies and waxing services, my favorite being the impeccable La Bonne Vie–a super pampering mani and pedi with foot massage that incorporates a warm, aromatherapy bath of rose petals, milk and lavender oil.
For those with a little more time on their hands, Scaccia says he’ll be expanding the charming 6,000-square-feet space in the coming months to include a steam room, sauna, whirlpool and other such full-service spa amenities. The stylish entrepreneur also tells me (and 7x7 readers) to stay tuned for an Italian women’s shoe boutique in Hayes Valley, which he plans to open in the near future.
