Stylish Gifts for the Bike Lover on Your List

Atomic 22 Phil Wood Set

Stylish Atomic 22 Phil Wood Anti-Theft Kit by Mash Transit

It’s not easy to find a gift for the bike-obsessed person on your holiday list. Chances are, if they wanted it they already got it for themselves. But with so many bike shops in San Francisco, and the bike industry exploding with new stylized gear, there’s still a lot that the gear head in your life may not even know about. I searched the city to find some of the coolest, most stylish gear gift ideas. Here are my picks:

Atomic 22 Phil Wood Set: Anti-Theft Kit:You can always count on Mash Transit to design the highest quality, most gorgeous accessories, and their new wheel, stem and seat locking set is no exception. The one-of-a-kind bolt kit (pictured above) keeps the bike secure and stylish by locking the steal-able parts. My favorite part: the bolts and keys are in the shape of Mash logos and no two ones are alike. $310, Mash Transit.

Knog Blinder USB Lights: Gone are the days of battery-powered lights. Or at least gone should be the days. When it comes to stylish bike lights, Knog is king. And this year they launched a whole line of USB ones. Charge these babies up on your computer once a week at work and you’ll be set to ride safely and visibly all week long. Blink blink, bling bling. $30   Market Street Cycles

Cannondale Speed Sleeve: It’s no fun to have your jersey pockets overflowing with gear. Luckily there are now options beyond the bulky seat post bags or slim DIY duct tape method. Cannondale’s Speed Sleeve is a pretty sweet, low profile accessory. Just wrap your wrenches, snacks or tubes in it and pedal away. Sports Basement or Cannondale.com, $20

Cinelli Book: the Art and Design of the Bicycle: Don’t want to risk buying bike gear for the gear head? They’ll be stoked with this new coffee table book about the art of the bicycle. It’s a beautifully illustrated survey of more than 65 years of Italian bicycle design, with contributions from world-renowned racers, and features a surprising number of local riders and artists. $45, Mash Transit.
