Red Cross Gala Sets Treasure Island Afire
On Saturday, April 5th, sleepy Treasure Island blazed to life for the 2014 Red Cross Gala as beautifully lit tents and a sea of guests dressed in vibrant red took over the Great Lawn. Guests enjoyed a plated dinner and time to socialize under the stars before performances by Sly and The Family Stone set the dance floor on fire.
The gala was the culmination of several months of events raising awareness about the Red Cross, including a launch party. This year’s event honored Paula Downey as the American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter Humanitarian of the Year, and gala co-chairs Lillian Phan and Gwenyth Borden presented the event in elegant style. Proceeds from the event benefited the American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter’s disaster preparedness, response, and recovery program.
