I have a motto: When the world zags — zig. But when the world brings Missoni to the masses, I say zig zags for all. Not since Matthew Williamson's collection for H&M have I been so excited for a high/low collaboration. Tomorrow, Missoni for Target brings their definitive luxury zig zags and graphic prints to Target stores worldwide and online. As exciting as it is, the 400-piece collection is overwhelming. Spanning womenswear, menswear, girls, baby, and home, I have curated a San Francisco-centric selection of seven picks from the look book.
The two most abundant categories are women's and home, but Missoni really went all out — read: Missoni bike. “Working with Target to create a mass collection that reflects the spirit of Missoni has been extremely energizing,” said Angela Missoni. “Each piece is special to me because so much thought and care went into every aspect of the design.” The launch party in New York last week provides insight to what pieces people want.
Prices range from $2.99 to $599.99, with most items less than $40. The collection will be available from Sept. 13 through Oct. 22, and select pieces from the collection, including a variety of online-only items, will be available for an extended run through early December. So while you may feel the need to rush out to Emeryville or Serramonte in Daly City on Tuesday, speedy online shopping skills will come in handy too.
