There are ways to get to AT&T Park without being dominated by throngs of Giants fans and having to trade your firstborn child for a parking spot. Here are some tips for Wednesday's game!

Bicycling:

Thank goodness for the SF Bike Coalition, who make riding your bike to the stadium the most hassle-free experience imaginable. Their free valet area is located on the southern side of AT&T Park near the water, on PortWalk between the foul pole an the CHW Health Center. It's open 2 hours prior to game time, until 30 minutes afterward. The lot is secure and attended at all times during the game, so you don't have to bring a lock. If your tires need air, they might even fill 'em up for you (if you say please!). Check out their bike map to figure out a route from your house!

Free parking:

Our parking guru David LaBua, author of Finding the Sweet Spot, spilled one of his most guarded secrets a couple of weeks ago. He let the cat out of the bag about Bluxome Street between 4th and 6th, two blocks up from King Street. Why is it so great?

Says David: The spots here are perpendicular to the curb so twice or thrice as many cars can fit into this two block area as opposed to regular parallel parking streets. And, there are no meters or 2-hour limits as there are on every other surrounding street. The one restriction which will only be important if you get beaned and hospitalized by a foul ball, or get arrested for drunken over-enthusiastic behavior, is the Midnight to 2 a.m. street-sweeping restriction on Wednesdays.

Public Transportation:

Special pre- and post-game Muni Metro Ballpark Shuttles run between the Embarcadero and AT&T Park, and they still costs only $2 one way. Hop on the F-Car, the T and N Muni Metro lines or BART ($1.75 one way) to Embarcadero Station and grab a seat on the ballpark shuttle. Muni lines like the 10, 30, 45 and 47 come from all directions and stop within one block from the ballpark.
