Tell Us Your Holiday Proposal Story: Most Creative Gets a Prize!
December rules as the most popular month for popping the question, so if there was a diamond in your stocking this weekend, you are not alone. But if your loved one gave you a rock just before sky diving or in a tub of buttered popcorn at the movies (both stories we’ve heard, by the way) then you are in a very select group of people known as the creatively engaged, and we want to hear your story.
Tell us a tale that brings smiles to our faces or tears to our eyes, and you could win six tickets and VIP entry to the San Francisco Wedding Fair at the Four Seasons (where you can find the best of the best big-day vendors) for you and your entourage on Sunday, January 16.
Here’s how: Send your story to weddings@7x7.com. You have until Friday, January 7 to enter. On Wednesday, January 12 we will post the best seven proposals, including the winning effort.
Get ready to be inspired and amused, because the next best thing to getting a good proposal is reading about one.

My intended and I were having dinner with another couple at Bix, seated upstairs in a corner booth. Halfway through our meal, two uniformed SFPD officers come to our table, drawing the full attention of the entire restaurant. One officer asks If I am who I am and for my I.D. The other then says, "You are charged with embezzeling several million dollars from your company" I was a partner in printing business then and feuding with my partners. My gal, a normally demure and staid person, pipes up and says, "Wait a minute, we don't HAVE two million dollars!" One of the cops handed me the ring and I turned to my gal and said, "If you marry me they can't make you testify against me." She was obviously confused, but after a moment she giggled and and simply said, "Yes" and we both had a brief cry. The other diners and staff burst into applause and the cops went on their "marry" way.

Ok, here is the story of how Justin asked me to marry him. I got a text from Justin early Wednesday morning Dec 15 to be exact about good weather for the week. We planned a nice hike after I got out of work that day. The whole day was a normal Wednesday work day. I got home from work around 4:30 waited for Justin to pick me up for our hike. He was running a little behind, but I thought nothing of it, because of his new business venture. So finally I get picked up a little after 6pm. It's pretty dark, but as some of you know night hikes with flashlights are justin's favorite! So we drive up to peacock creek, park in the neighborhoods to access the hills behind the houses. The sky was super clear and the moon was so bright, it lit up the land. We walked for about 15 mins and we spotted off in the distance something we hadn't seen before. I was making bets it was a restroom, but as we got closer, it got bigger. My next thought was some kind of shelter for the roaming cattle, or baby cattle :). Sure enough we are now less than 10 feet away , now realizing this was no small restroom or shelter tent, before I knew it the whole thing lights up, still unsure, I walk around the other side, and to my surprise I find a 3 walled tented canopy, a table and chairs, patio heating lamp, lots of lights, wine and place settings, all in the middle of no-where! Of course at this point I'm completely shocked, Justin had me sit down and then he got on one knee, pulled out the most beautiful dark wooded box, and the rest I guess is history! He had our favorite meal there, and the view overlooked all of Clayton :) it was amazing! His parents had helped him set it up all day! I always wondered how he would top the way he asked me to be his girlfriend, now I have this super special memory, (and this beautiful ring) to remind me everyday of what a lucky girl I am!

It was a hot summer night, we just got done with a days full of family activities and were feeling a little frisky. We walked down, in barefeet to a small lake by her parents Tahoe house and proceeded to make sweet passionate love under the orangish moon.
What my wife didn't know, was that earlier that day, I had hidden a box under a glorious pine. As we happily exited the water, i said, "What is that sparkle?" and quickly pulled out my Grandmothers ring and offered it to her. She glanced back at me and said... "Yes, Yes, I want all of your life and mine to connect and live together forever"...
