Suppose you're the kind of person intrigued by the energy, creativity, and trippiness of Burning Man...but hate the heat, the long drive, and the penchant for nudity (let's face it, it's almost never practiced by the people you want to see) inherent to the festival. We've got you covered...
This weekend's Maker Faire in San Mateo, the largest DIY festival in the world, is designed for visionaries of all ages, replete with eye candy, brain candy, hand candy... and perhaps actual candy. We're talking robots, textiles, electronics, puppets, kites, vintage computers and pretty much anything you can fix up or take apart. Started by Sebastapol's Make magazine back in 2006, it's something you'll have to see for yourself. And we've made it super easy for you to do just that: simply email your full name to firstname.lastname@example.org by noon, Thursday, May 19th, and you'll be entered to win a pair of tickets to Maker Faire!
Maker Faire Bay Area, 2011, May 21-22, San Mateo County Event Center, 1346 Saratoga Drive, San Mateo
Tickets will be emailed as PDFs to winner.
