The people have spoken, and they’ve named our winner of the 2014 Trumer Pils Your City, Your Chef contest—Matthew Accarrino of SPQR!
Born in the Midwest and raised on the East Coast, Accarrino put down his California roots in 2007 and has been making a name for himself in the culinary world ever since. After racking up praise in several national publications as well as three consecutive James Beard semi-finalist nods, Accarrino has proven that he's far from a flash in the pan.
As the chef helming SPQR, Accarrino draws from his Italian heritage while embracing NorCal's spectacular bounty of local ingredients. With its prime Pac Heights location and covet-worthy cuisine, SPQR has risen in the restaurant ranks to become a major SF hot spot. It's clear that our readers agree!
To celebrate, 7x7 and Trumer Pils will curate a private reception at SPQR with chef Accarrino. The guest list will include one lucky fan who voted for Accarrino during our contest (talk about a fangirl/guy moment!). The dinner will also be featured in an upcoming issue of 7x7.
