The 17th Maker Faire Bay Area returns September 26–28, transforming Vallejo’s historic Mare Island Naval Shipyard into a hub of invention, creativity, and discovery.
Known as the “Greatest Show-and-Tell on Earth,” Maker Faire brings together more than 20,000 creators, crafters, artisans, and participants for a weekend of hands-on learning, live demonstrations, and inspiring showcases.
Over its three days, the event will highlight the diversity and ingenuity of the global maker movement, with exhibits and experiences for all ages spanning art, science, food, music, AI, microelectronics, 3D printing, drones, robotics, and more.

Among them is the cathedral-like Luminarium, where visitors enter a labyrinth of tunnels and pods in which shifting patterns of natural light deliver an otherworldly glow. Described as part artwork, part playground, and part spiritual retreat, the awe-inspiring inflatable sculpture by internationally renowned Architects of Air has been experienced by more than two million visitors in 38 countries since 1992.
Friday, September 26th, is a special day designed just for students and educators, with hundreds of makers and presenters sharing projects that explore innovation for social good, education, and technology.
You don’t have to be a student or teacher to get a kick out of the Maker Faire Bay Area, though. They invite anyone with a curious streak to roll up their sleeves and be inspired. Tickets are on sale now—save 35 percent with the promo code 7x7.
