Advice From Designers For Your Next Decorating Project

By

The SF Chron has been tearing it up lately with their Stylemaker Spotlight column. Every week or so a local interior designer is featured, some of whom are up-and-coming, others who've made their mark on the city for a while. In addition to providing a bit of background on how they got into the business, each also hands down some advice on how to decorate your space like a professional. We're particularly loving the 'Cheat Sheet' section, where the designers share their favorite local resources and tips on creating a unique space. Kendall Wilkinson mentions E-Tech Powder Coating in Walnut Creek ad Jafe Custom Finishing in the city as great places for revitalizing old furniture (bonus: it's eco-conscious and often less expensive than buying new). Palmer Weiss raves about Leontine Linens and Raul Textiles. Derek Chen lists the incredible Center Hardware as his go-to source. You even get advice on what the pros consider splurge-worthy, and where you can skimp. If you don't have a designer friend to help you with your home gratis, Stylemaker just might be the next best thing.
