Starting June 10, you'll be able to take a little piece of the Marin Headlands home with you. Well, sort of. The Headlands Center for the Arts, one of my favorite places to visit across the bay, is launching an online shop of locally designed objects. The center commissioned artists—Matt Dick, Tucker Nichols, Yvonne Mouser & Adam Reineck of New Factory, Luke Fishbeck, Scott Tal, and Tanner Goods—to create one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by the natural landscape and in keeping with the Headlands' mission to elicit a response to its role as a place, concept, and experience. "We wanted to carry on Headlands' long-standing tradition of site-specific, place-inspired making," says executive director Sharon Maidenberg. "So we've partnered with like-minded creative practitioners to offer thoughtfully conceived and lovingly crafted objects."

These artist-designed pieces include last year's most popular editions like Scott Tal's custom wood and leather flashlight (my personal favorite), which was scooped up by the likes of Robin Williams at last summer's open house, plus New Factory's portable "three-in-one" hiking stool and a signature Captain Blankenship scent.

The online shop's inventory will be rounded out with new items like Anzfer Farms' reclaimed wood book easels, a cheeky predator tea towel by Tucker Nichols, and a special line of Heath Ceramics in addition to more standard merch like branded totes and tees.

If you want first dibs at these goods, jet over to the Headlands' annual benefit auction in the Presidio on June 5, where these items will be up for grabs at Geremia Design's pop-up before being released to the masses on June 10.
