No month ever goes by in San Francisco when I'm not serenaded by the thumping groove of "Thuggish Ruggish Bone" rattling the subwoofers in the trunk of a passing car. The debut single from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is almost 20 years old and still gets the Bay Area bumping, just like they will this weekend at Yoshi's in San Francisco.
For two nights in a very rare small club stop, all the Grammy-winning Bone Thugs except (sadly) for Bizzy Bone, will grace the stage with a live band and reprise their classic jams ("Crossroads", "1st Of Tha Month?" perhaps?) and hopefully give us a taste of their latest album, Uni5: The World's Enemy, released last year. Their dense, speedy and harmonic rhyming style is unparalleled as one of the best combinations of rap and R&B ever caught on tape. And best of all, they never do the same thing twice on stage.
