Greetings chums,
The Bubble Lounge was the venue last night for an evening of bubbles and delicious food. I fell in love all over again, with a new champagne, Gardet.
Chef Brian Konopa unveiled a stunning new menu featuring all manner of tasty treats. The menu comprised small plates that were the perfect partners to the cool, crisp, exquisite Gardet champagne.
The plates started at $12 and are available for all now. How's this to get your mouth watering: filo-crusted hearts of palm with prosciutto and parmesan; duo of hamachi tartar with caviar; and smoked salmon with crispy vegetables. And not forgetting dessert, best of all was the caramelized banana and Tahitian vanilla creme brulee. The topper was the champagne chocolate truffles; they made this a night to remember! Pure bliss.
From the Premier Cru areas of Chigny les Roses, Ludes and Rilly la Montagne in France, Gardet champagne is the real deal and enjoys much popularity and critical favor in Europe. Gardet premiered at the Bubble Lounge last night. You’ll find it here and nowhere else in California. We were delighted to be among the lucky ones to be invited to welcome champagne Gardet to San Francisco.
We started out with a Brut Rose that had a gorgeous nose of strawberry tart and a soft red berry palate. Yum yum. The perfect summer champagne. The 1999 Vintage Brut was next—a fine balanced champagne, pure heaven on the palate. Not sure what was next, but I know it was good!
Vicki Liviakis, KRON4 anchor and champagne lover, helped me along with her partner Philip—dear friends and food industry darlings that they are—devour a case or two of the great Gardet. Mmmmmmmm.
If you’re looking for a spot to wind down after work or an intimate place for a date, the Bubble Lounge is it and Gardet champagne is the way to go.
Thanks Olga and Kimberly for hosting. A right royal treat indeed and to quote the champagne-loving Robin Leach, "Champagne wishes and caviar dreams."
Have a champagne-filled weekend.
Cheers,
Liam
