Just when you thought there was no room for another new shop on Hayes Street, the owners of Convert announced yesterday they're opening a third eco-fashion boutique at 556 Hayes on August 15. This one is for the guys only! Convert Man will be the brand’s first outpost in San Francisco—the other two are on Berkeley’s 4th Street.
As you know, Rare Device opened a second location in Noe Valley. This week, they’re celebrating with a party at the new shop. Elizabeth Street Cosmetics is hosting a trunk show, and Juniper Ridge will distill fragrances on site. In sad retail news, Chloe Rose at 1824 Union Street in Cow Hollow is closing. The good news is everything in the store is 40 percent off, and the owners promise a new and improved website with 100 percent free shipping and returns. Note that the sale is in-store only.
City Optix, an SF go-to for fashionable prescription eyewear and sunglasses, is also closing its 1685 Haight Street location and consolidating all operations to the 2154 Chestnut street shop.
