Monday: Free Sandwiches @ Ike's

Why: To celebrate its new location, Bay Area's favorite sandwich shop is giving out one free mouthwatering sandwiches under $13 (one per person) today for lunch and dinner.


Tuesday: Smell the Flowers @ SF Botanical Garden

When: Tuesday, June 13th, 7:30-9am

Where: 1199 9th Ave. (Golden Gate Park), sfbotanicalgarden.com

Why: Come the second Tuesday of every month, the San Francisco Botanical Gardens waives its admission fee in the wee hours of the morning. If you've ever wanted to see the gardens swept in morning dew, now's your chance.


Wednesday: Make Your Own Terrarium @ Covet

When: Wednesday, June 14th, 6:30-7:30pm

Why: If you haven't yet noticed, terrariums are the new pet rocks. Swing by Covet boutique on Wednesday night to build your own potted world. All LEDs and other needed materials are included with your ticket ($49 at Eventbrite).


Thursday: Humane Modernism Talk @ SF Design Week

When: Thursday, June 15th, 6-8pm

Why: Learn how an architectural designer aims to shape a more sustainable, level-headed world through environmental and socio-circumstantial blueprints. After a tour of his downtown studio, attendees will be treated to a bevy of cocktails and conversations on what it means to be a "humane modernist." Tickets $10 at Eventbrite.


Friday: Dad's Day @ Aquarium of the Bay

Saturday: Corgi Con @ Ocean Beach

Sunday: Rainbow Lighting @ City Hall

When: Sunday, June 17th, 8pm

Where: 1 Drive Carlton B Goodlett Place (Civic Center), sfgov.org

Why: Kick off the official start of Pride Week with the ceremonial rainbow lighting at City Hall. Free for all to attend, the formal lighting will begin at 8pm and continue to shine throughout the week. (On Friday, however, City Hall will be lit blue, pink, and white lights to honor the Trans March.)
