Champagne and Oysters at Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant!
One of the greatest pleasures of the winter season (or any season, really) is the classic pairing of ice-cold briny oysters and ice-cold bubbly Champagne. If you want to get your fix before New Year's Eve, head to the Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant on December 15, for their second annual Champagne and Oyster fête. Choose from a flight of Grande Marques and Grower-Producer bubbles ($46 for 5 pours) or opt for the Non-vintage rosé flight ($18 for 3 pours). Chutney Class at 18 Reasons
With all the roasted meats that grace tables during the month of December, a suitable chutney seems a natural mate. A Very Sweet Cal Academy Nightlife
This week, Cal Academy's Nightlife is devoted to chocolate—in addition to the usual DJ and (chocolatey) cocktails, there will also be a truffle and ganache cooking demo, and a guided tasting of Madagascar chocolates. The beer served, naturally, will be chocolate stout. The event will be held December 16 and begins at 6 p.m., tickets are $12 ($10 for Cal Academy members) and you can purchase them right here.
