An Exhibit on the History of Food in the Bay Area
On May 15 and 16 (and every weekend in May thereafter), the San Francisco Museum and Historical Society will present an exhibit entitled “From Earth to 5 Star: the Bay Area’s Innovations in Food and Farming.” The exhibit will highlight some of the area’s most important culinary contributions, as well as predictions for the future of food. Tickets are $10; the exhibit is open both Saturday and Sunday from 12-5 p.m.
Bean-Out at a Temporary Restaurant Happening

On May 17 Kim Severson, food writer for The New York Times, will read from her memoir “Spoon Fed: How Eight Cooks Saved My Life” at Omnivore Books. The event runs from 6-7 p.m. and is free.
Culinary Legends Discuss “The Way We Eat Now”
On May 18 Thomas Keller, Traci des Jardins, Michael Mina and Times writer Kim Severson join former Times critic Frank Bruni in a discussion about the state of the plate.
