One of the best parts about San Francisco is the food trucks, and SoMa StrEAT Food Park will host an event by one of SF’s most renowned: Doc’s of the Bay. The San Francisco and East Bay food truck’s event,Doc’s of the Bay Presents: One Big Ole Pig, is basically the food truck version of a contemporary pig roast. And we’re not kidding when we say meal: tickets include two cuts of pig, two specialty sauces, two sides, cornbread, peach cobbler and a beer. @ 428 11th Street, Friday Aug. 23 from 5 to 10 pm. If you’re looking for organic juices in Mill Valley, look no further than the new Urban Remedy, which opened up this week. The store has everything to satisfy your juice and snack fixes, including vegan and gluten-free fares. Get a taste at the Urban Remedy Grand Opening Party this Friday, hosted by the Founder and CEO Neka Pasquale. @ 15 East Blithedale Avenue, Mill Valley. Friday Aug. 23, 6 pm.
August 24
Noise Pop returns to the city for its 20th Street Block Party this Saturday, where the 20th Street Corridor gets taken over by local restaurants and musicians for a free, family-friendly festival. From Harrison to Bryant streets you can grab food from vendors like flour + water and Central Kitchen, or even grab a cocktail from Trick Dog at the Dog House Booze Garden. With demonstrations, interactive activities, and local craft vendors, it’s a great spot to hit this weekend for your foodie fix. @ 20th Street from Harrison to Bryant, Aug. 24th, 12 to 6 pm.
There’s no better way to celebrate a 20th anniversary than with a 1990s themed celebration! Taylor Maid Farms will celebrate their 20th Anniversary and Grand Opening on August 24, featuring their Maiden 1993 new premium coffee blend that will be served for free. The 90s-themed event will feature bites from local eateries like Undercover Baking Agency and feature drinks from kombucha and Lagunitas. They encourage $2 beer donations, and all proceeds will benefit the Global Student Embassy, a Sebastopol-based nonprofit. 1990s attire encouraged. @ 6790 McKinley Ave, Suite 170, Sebastopol from 2 to 5 pm.
One of our favorite ways to enjoy the food of Petaluma is through tasting events — and the 8th Annual “Taste of Petaluma” event is a perfect opportunity. With ten tastings to each ticket, you’ll go on a walking culinary adventure through some of the best restaurants, wineries, breweries, and even shops and galleries to get a full taste of the culture in Petaluma through historic downtown. With 50 different and delicious participants to choose from, use those ten tastings wisely! @ Putnam Plaza, Petaluma from 11:30 am to 4 pm, Aug. 24. August 25
Take a first with the city by attending the first SF Bacon and Beer Festival this Sunday, with over 50 Bay Area restaurants and breweries at the Fairmont for you to choose from. The huge vendor selection includes Bacon Bacon, Kettle Potato Chips and KRAVE Jerky for bacon plus breweries like Lagunitas Brewing Company and 21st Amendment Brewery. Grab your ticket to get in and sample the dishes. Extra bonus? Proceeds will benefit Sprouts Cooking Club. @ 950 Mason St., 2:30 to 5 pm. Tickets are $50 and can be bought here.
