In this week's bevy of restaurant news we have the closing of a 50-year-old institution in outer Mission, the relocation of popular spot Lolo in the Mission, an update on two new bars opening this spring, and an update on the Sons & Daughters spinoff arriving soon in North Beach.

First up, storied, Fieri-approved burger joint Joe's Cable Car Restaurant (4320 Mission Street at Silver) is set to close its doors after 49 years in business in Mission Terrace. Joe Obegi has been the owner and burgermeister since the place opened in 1965, and he's ready to call it quits as of March 16. Over in the Mission, the ever popular, modern Mexican spot Loló is making a quick change of location, moving into the former Lot 7 space at 974 Valencia Street. They closed last weekend on 22nd Street and will reopen in the new space on Monday, February 3 with a slightly expanded menu, and a new mezcal-driven cocktail menu. [SFist]

Also in the Mission, we get an update on ABV, the new cocktail bar coming to the former Tokyo Go Go space on 16th. The guys behind it are Erik Reichborn-Kjennerud (owner of Dalva, Dalva Hideout), Ryan Fitzgerald (former Beretta bar manager), and Todd Smith (bartender at Dalva Hideout, founding bartender at Bourbon & Branch), and as Camper English reports in Details, they're aiming now for a March opening. Another Bourbon & Branch alum, Ali Tahsini, is getting set to open Double Standard at 2424 Telegraph Avenue in Oakland (at 24th). He's aiming for a late April opening, and will feature classic cocktails in a warm, comfortable environment. [Details]

Up in North Beach we have an update about the spinoff project of Teague Moriarty and Matt McNamara, the guys behind Sons & Daughters and Sweet Woodruff. They've taken over the former Bottle Cap/Washington Square Bar & Grill space (1707 Powell Street), and for the name they're going with an old nickname of the spot that isn't The Washbag, but instead calling it The Square. They'll be doing late-night service, serving food until 1 a.m., and Moriarty tells the Chron that in addition to being casual and affordable, "We are pushing toward classic, clean and accessible flavors."
