I'll admit it. I usually have the sort of prejudice toward instrumental pop music (no words=jam band=I'm probably not interested) that I used to reserve for books without pictures. Thanks to the Baby-Sitters Club, however, I know that these things can change. Rodrigo y Gabriela (specifically, their dueling acoustic guitars) are the instruments of this latest personal change: The Dublin, Ireland based duo (who originally hail from Mexico City) cite Metallica among their influences (they cover "Orion") and their flamenco-infused take on "Stairway to Heaven" is finger-picking-fantastic. It's not so much world music, as rock-your-world music. And now that their visa issues are out of the way, it's safe to say that you can and should mark their June 28 Fillmore date in pen on your concert calendar.
