Named “Best Film Festival” by USA Today readers, Cinequest 2016 returns to the Bay Area next month, from March 1-13 in San Jose.
The year, the festival will include appearances by Maverick Spirit winners James Franco and Rita Moreno; 124 world and U.S. premiere films (featuring stars such as Geoffrey Rush, Emma Watson, Alyson Stoner, and Penelope Cruz); over 700 presenting artists and innovators; as well as fabulous A-list celebrations.
As the curtain rises at the palatial California Theatre in San Jose, you'll be entertained by the opening night thriller, Eye in the Sky, starring Helen Mirren, the late Alan Rickman, and Aaron Paul. Closing night features include the beautiful and haunting United States premiere of The Daughter, starring Geoffrey Rush and Miranda Otto.
