Looking Back at Hunky Jesus, Happening This Sunday

One person's blasphemy is another person's tipsy Easter Sunday celebration in the park. For 36 years, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence have been sexualizing Mr. Christ on Easter Sunday via their wildly popular Hunky Jesus contest. From Yoga Jesus to Beverly Hills Jesus, people come from all over to sport their Lord and Savior sartorial finest.

The best part? (Aside for all of the hot holy bods, that is.) Proceeds go to help AIDS/HIV charities.

Be sure to check out this year's show, delightfully titled "#WTF Mary?! Hunky Jesus Take the Wheel!" People are encouraged to come dressed in county fair-themed regalia.

The 36th anniversary celebration kicks off with children’s easter from 11 am to 12 noon, followed by the far more infamous main event from noon to 4 pm. Note: This year the spectacle will take placeat Golden Gate Park’s Hellman Hollow, formerly known as Speedway Meadow.

To get you in the holy spirited mood, here are a few scenes of Hunky Jesus from past Easter Sundays. Enjoy.
