Muni Prices on the Rise This Summer

By

Keep hoarding those quarters, commuters. The price of Muni will increase again next month, making this the second bump in just one year.

On July 1, the monthly “M” Fast Pass gets a $2 bump from $68 to $70, and discount fares for seniors and disabled persons will increase from 75-cents to $1. Luckily, the standard adult fare will remain the same.

The increase is thanks to the Capital Improvement Program (CIP), a 10-year plan designed to improve San Francisco infastructure, including streets, public spaces, earthquake safety, and accessiblity.

But that's not all. According to the Fiscal Year Budget for 2015-2016, we can expect to see yet another increase for some Muni passes, including the daily passports, again in 2016.
