Must Have: Vintage Electric's New Cruz Bike

By

There's something nostalgic and charming when an old beach cruiser goes wheeling by, especially when you're on a day-cation in Santa Cruz; but add the convenience and efficiency of an electric bike? Now you're really moving. The folks at Vintage Electric had the same thoughts, and they've combined these two great qualities with their new limited edition electric bikes, Cruz, launching today.

Offering the same best-in-class performance as its last model, the E-Tracker, Vintage Electric offers top-speeds—a whopping 36 mph—with the Cruz. There are some fancy specs that only cycling geeks may understand: regenerative breaking paired with Shimano Alfine hydraulic disk brakes (translation: stop-on-a-dime control), plus a sandcast aluminum battery box, powerful LED lighting, Phil-Wood front hub, and a Brooks England Ltd leather saddle and grips, plus the 52-volt battery provides 30 miles of ride time, and requires only two hours to fully charge. But the bottom line? Picture yourself flying down the Embarcadero on this puppy, and there you have it. Better hurry, though—there are only 50 of these available. Starts at $4,995; get one here.
