Healdsburg—the small Sonoma County town that lies at the intersection of Dry Creek, Russian River Valley and Alexander Valley AVAs—is known for its wine. But the area has also earned its chops as an antique and vintage shopping destination. Today, a new store joins the list of fun treasure hunts. It's called ReHealdsburg, and it promises to offer items not commonly found on Healdsburg shelves.
The monthly pop-up shop is the brainchild of Peter Rosson and David Barrett (with help from Katie Rosson and Sonny Childers). Rosson is a former school teacher and Barrett is a real estate agent, but they are both closet collectors. For years they've been traveling to Palm Springs and picking up finds in that town's famous vintage stores. And, although they plan to focus on consignment sales, their grand opening will feature a lot of their accumulated finds.
Besides being open once a month (firm days and times to come, but this month it's Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m to 5 p.m.), the store is different in that it will have a broader array of modern and midcentury furniture than their competitors.
Rosson also assures that the wares will be constantly restocked. So, if you have to be in San Francisco on Friday, as I do, don't worry about missing all the good stuff.
