It’s that time of year again–the holidays are here! For the San Francisco SPCA, that means Macy’s Holiday Windows. Each year since 1986, the Union Square Holiday Windows have been made cuddlier with adoptable cats and dogs from the SF SPCA. Over the years, thousands of animals have found new families during the holidays and generous San Franciscans have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to support the San Francisco SPCA. We can’t thank you enough.
This year’s event kicked off last Friday, with Mayor Willie Brown hosting the unveiling event at Macy’s Union Square. Don’t fret if you missed it –the animals will be at Macy’s through January 1. If you need a respite from your day, pop down to Union Square to see them. There’s nothing like a furry lovebug to brighten up a cold winter day. If you fall in love (and how can you not?), no problem–we have a pop-up adoption center on Macy’s Level 1.
Looking for a way to give back this season? We at the SF SPCA love donations. We also love to welcome volunteers to the SF SPCA family. We have over 4000 volunteer hours to fill at Macy’s, so think about putting a group together and volunteering for a two-hour shift. You can sign up online.
Can’t get enough? No problem. We have streaming video of the windows which you can watch all day long at work. New and improved for this year, you can clip highlights and share them on Facebook and Twitter and watch highlights that others have posted, thanks to our friends at SnappyTV.
We want to thank everyone who visits us, donates, adopts and loves the animals in their lives. You lift our hearts–not only at this magical time of year, but every day.
