For this week's Scenes of the City we went camping just across the Golden Gate Bridge at Kirby Cove.
As part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Kirby Cove features a campground with four campsites, each accommodating up to 10 people. There's barbecue pits, picnic tables, and fire rings available onsite. The cove also features a small beach with rocky bluffs on both sides, and absolutely stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco skyline, and Lands End.
Reservations are really hard to come by, but watch the availability calendar and snag one here.
