Pizza for Schools

Today's a good day to grab pizza for lunch. Ten percent of all pie sales at Patxi’s Chicago Pizza will go to support SF public schools through edMatch. Together, Patxi’s three locations in Noe, Hayes, and the Marina will match funds raised by school parent groups. Wednesday, Jan. 12.

Alice Waters hosts the Good Food Awards on Friday in a private event, where she'll announce the best beer, chocolate, cheeses, and more from around the country. Finalists include Thirsty Bear Brewing's Polar Bear Pils, Charles Chocolates' Salty Sweet Chashew Bar, and Ritual Coffee Roasters' Kenya Kiandu. Meet the winners and taste their spoils at the free Good Food Marketplace at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market on Saturday, Jan. 15.

West Coast Cheeses

On Sunday, Jan. 16, 3-4 p.m., she'll be at Omnivore Books to talk about her four-month tour of 40 American artisan cheesemakers, read from her book, Guide to West Coast Cheese, and offer her favorite samples.
