We're all for spending a day lounging in Dolores Park, cold beer in hand. But we're also in favor of spicing all that park action up with an epic day of catwalking and dog costume-gazing at our second annual Whole Enchihuahua! We've partnered with the SF SPCA to throw this awesome pet contest–all dogs are welcome–from noon to 4 pm meant to raise awareness about the plight of chihuahuas (they're the breed most given up to shelters).
Dress your little friend to impress (check out the amazing photos from last year!) and parade him or her around on the catwalk for awesome doggie-centric prizes. There will also be a Smooch-a-Pooch kissing booth, cookie decorating, collar and harness fitting, a chihuahua meetup, plus booths offering adoption services and pet care and behavioral advice from licensed vets.
Humans can score goodies too.Off the Grid is offering vouchers for a signature dish from one of their vendors to the first 100 people who register their dogs for the contest. And that's not all; Chipotle will be giving away free gift cards to anyone who makes an adoption at the event.
