After all the hard work this city did to rally supporters, nominate causes it's passionate about and leverage votes for our second annual favorite charity contest, one clear winner emerged from the pool of seven finalists: Muttville Senior Dog Rescue! These tireless ladies, along with their volunteers, save dozens upon dozens of senior and special needs dogs from euthanasia and help them find permanent homes. They'll receive $10,000 from one of the Bay Area's largest corporate philanthropic organizations, Pacific Gas & Electric. Congratulations to our runners up, who each receive $2,000 from Pacific Gas & Electric as well: Hearing & Speech Center of Northern California, Lyon-Martin Health Services, Mayor's Youth Employment & Education Program, Minds Matter, Saving Grace Rescue and the SF Asian Women's Shelter.
We hope that during this season of giving, a campaign like this can remind everyone how much we are able to give back throughout the year. Until next year!
