New Louisiana-flavored pop-up Easy Creole takes its Cajun dishes for a culinary test drive this week. The two-person operation is fast, cheap and served until it’s gone. On the menu: shrimp gumbo, etouffee, succotash, tons of vegan options, and the requisite red beans and rice at The Residence (Wednesday 5/25, 5pm) and at La Victoria Bakery (Friday, 5/27, 5-10p.m.) Keep up with @easycreole to learn where they’ll be in the coming weeks. Thursday, May 26
Luce sommelier John Wight will partner with Napa’s Capture Wines to present an evening of food and wine pairings that combine the best of both worlds. The four-course menu ($95 a head) will offer up roasted Tolinas quail, a slow cooked egg with toasted farro and wild ramps and spring lamb “daube,” each paired with its own unique Bordeaux wine. Tuesday, May 31
If you miss this week’s wine/dinner combo, head over to Silks at the Mandarin Oriental for a four-course dinner hosting a dozen New Zealand winemakers. For $30, sip on wines from Craggy Range, Vavasour and others at MO Bar, and then migrate to Silks for the $95 winemaker dinner. Ryan Maxey and Ian Begg of Naked Lunch will open their San Sebastian-inspired restaurant TXOKO in the long-vacant Enrico’s space. The menu of delectable small bites, including a fava bean cuscurro and grilled octopus with potato pearls and truffle foam, as well as dinner, will be accompanied by a hefty list of Iberian wines and top notch cocktail program. The kitchen will stay open until 1:30a.m., with indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for nighttime North Beach people-watching. 504 Broadway, 415-500-2744

Wednesday June 1
A foodie’s favorite two weeks in SF are back and the annual Dine About Town promotion will incorporate over 100 local restaurants. Offering specialized two-course lunches for $17.95 and three-course dinners for $34.95, this year’s group will include Comstock Saloon, Ducca, Marlowe and others. Reservations can be made via OpenTable and menus vary. Through June 15.












Through June, freshly opened Pac Heights Vietnamese street food eatery Bun Mee will donate a portion of their proceeds to local charity Project Night Night. The organization provides care packages with books, blankets and toys to local homeless children.
