Once over the Golden Gate Bridge you are immediately plunged into a summer wonderland. Here are three things that are enticing us out of the city this weekend.
Kayak to Hog Island
This stunning wildlife tour launches from Miller Park on Tomales Bay. Braving blue skies and calm waters, participants will paddle toward Hog Island for a glimpse of harbor seals and resting waterfowl and shorebirds. The expedition will continue along into White Gulch, and while floating past the white sandstone cliffs, everyone will be looking for the starfish and crabs that make these rocks their home. For lunch everyone will stop at a secluded beach for a picnic snack of freshly baked breads, organic fruits, and locally made cheeses, before continuing back toward the shore. Sip Wine and Watch Live Music
As part of their celebration of summer, Long Meadow Ranch Winery & Farmstead are having a concert series on their beautiful green lawns. This Saturday afternoon SF band, Alma Desnuda (Spanish for “Naked Soul”) will be charming the audience with their captivating harmonies, rhythmic grooves, and inspiring lyrics. With no fog to worry about, the afternoon will blend into evening with free tastings of Long Meadow Ranch’s finest wines, as well as some fresh and delicious farm-to-table food. So grab your picnic rug and enjoy some beautiful Napa sun, music and food this Saturday. Tickets are $35 and include free LMR wine tasting. They can be purchased here.

Watch Shakespeare in the Park
Feeling like getting some culture? Shakespeare Napa Valley (SNV) are presenting Twelfth Night in beautiful Veterans Memorial Park in Downtown Napa. The Twelfth Night is one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies and this particular adaptation of it is set in the Wild Wild West. Bring some chairs to sit on (or picnic rug if you’d like) and some snacks to munch on. It is a free performance and there are no reservations accepted - seating is first-come, first-served.
