Take advantage of Marin County's seemingly eternal sunlight and spend some time exploring the best happenings across the bridge this weekend.
Dustbowl Revival at The Throckmorton Theatre
Venice, CA-based roots collective Dustbowl Revival take over the gorgeous Throckmorton Theater in Mill Valley on Sunday for an evening of boldly revitalized Americana. A nine-piece band including tuba, washboard, accordion, fiddle, mandolin and more, Dustbowl Revival will win you over with their exuberantly raucous live show that was featured in Rolling Stone. An upbeat blend of old-timey bluegrass, gospel, jug band, swamp blues, and swing music, we bet you and your partner will spend the whole night on your feet. For more info, click here. Sun 9/29 , 7:30pm; 142 Throckmorton Ave, Mill Valley, CA.
Take advantage of what’s forecasted to be another gorgeous weekend in the Bay Area and spend the day exploring Marin’s most scenic waterfalls. One of our favorite hikes in Marin County, the Cataract Trail Loop circles through the Mount Tamalpais Watershed, providing some breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean along the way. A moderate 7.7 mile loop that should take a half-day, young children may tire easily. For more information, maps, and driving directions, click here.
Saturday night is the annual Lawn Party, an evening of music, food, and wine to benefit Big Brothers/Big Sisters & Wounded Veterans. The event will feature the Bay Area’s premier Eagles tribute band Lyin’ I’s, as well as food from Il Davide, Marinitas, Odalisque Café, and more. Tickets are available online here for $40 and at the door for $55. Come support this great cause! Click here for more information.
