Craft Beer Fest + The Avett Brothers
Head to the Green Music Center on Thursday, September 15th for the inaugural Craft Beer Fest, featuring an amazing lineup of brews paired with folk rock favorites The Avett Brothers. Starting at 5:30 pm, guests will be able to sample beers and ciders from local breweries including 101 North Brewing Co., Anderson Valley Brewing Company, Berryessa Brewing Company, HenHouse Brewing Company, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Napa Palisades Brewery, Petaluma Hills Brewing Company, Sonoma Cider, Uinta Brewing Company and more. A portion of the proceeds go to support the Green Music Center's free Jazz for Young People Concert happening Saturday, October 1st at 1:00 pm., featuring Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, as part of the center's ongoing community engagement and outreach efforts.
At 7:30 pm that night, The Avett Brothers take the stage, blending folk, bluegrass, and southern rock to create songs that are honest—just chords with authentic voices singing real melodies. In 2001, banjoist Scott and guitarist Seth formed The Avett Brothers with standup bass player Bob. Growing up in Concord, NC, the boys immersed themselves in their musician dad's record collection, falling in love with Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Crosby, Stills & Nash. They rose to the status of genre stalwarts over the course of six albums, including 2007's acclaimed Emotionalism. Their energetic live performance is a celebration of songs that sing to the heart and dance with the soul. The show comes fresh on the heels of the chart-topping release of their ninth studio album, True Sadness, this past June. // Tickets are available at gmc.sonoma.edu or by calling 1.866.955.6040.
