A whip smart, street savvy, stylish urban dweller with an intense hankering for tasty food, cool happenings, fashion, travel, design, and the latest gadgets. And also a talented writer and editor with killer story ideas, a deep love of San Francisco, digital prowess, and a yen to grow within a small, hands-on creative team...
And you have these skills:

Strong writing and communication skills required
-
Hands-on top- and line-editing experience preferred
-
Experience with online CMS and social media platforms is a must
-
Exceptional organization skills and ability to multi-task
-
Ability to manage a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment…with grace
-
Experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Dreamweaver a plus
And you're game to do all this:
-
Attend bi-weekly editorial meetings and contribute pitches for daily stories, regular columns, and features across lifestyle channels (including food, culture, style, travel, tech, and arts)

Write 7-10 stories per week, including 2-3 regular columns
-
Assign/edit freelancer stories, organizing pitches on group Trello board
-
Schedule and publish daily and weekend content
-
Build 7x7’s daily newsletter, including dedicated blasts, with both editorial content and advertising units. Ensure posts & ad units are scheduled correctly and frequently
-
Help manage social media accounts
-
Take a leadership role in thematic editorial packages such as the holiday gift guide, nightlife guides, and Best of SF
-
Work closely with the team to help conceive native content campaigns; collect creative assets, and write dedicated blogs and social posts
-
Occasional assistance at events and client programs
-
Oversee online calendar events page
-
Supervise 2-3 interns on a revolving basis
And you also possess these qualifications:

Big ideas (and lots of them) for sharp, stylish, up-to-the-minute stories relevant to San Francisco Bay Area residents and visitors
-
A bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, new media or related field
-
Recent clips showing strong editing and writing skills
-
A deep knowledge and love of San Francisco

Detail- and deadline-oriented, highly motivated
-
City or regional publishing experience is preferred
