A Knife Party, New SF-Based Skincare Line, Topshop Pop-Up, and More

This Friday, February 13, San Francisco's Fiat Lux jewelry store will host My Bloody Valentine, a party to celebrate the shop's 2nd Annual Maker's Competition. Owners Alexei and Marie challenged seven designers to craft a hand-made knife. Daisy San Luis, Digby & Iona, Elizabeth Street Jewelry, Lauren Wolf, Mother of Gideon, Nick Potash, plus Fiat Lux themselves each created a knife valued at $1,250, and starting today until Friday you can vote on your favorite. One lucky voter will take home the winning knife design. The Fiat Lux take on Valentine's Day? Party starts at 7pm on Friday at the Office, above Churchill at 194 Church Street. Check out the knives while you get down to music by the Ferocious Few.

Sherri Ziesche, owner of the Beauty Company in Russian Hill, has launched an eponymous skincare line. Ziesche was inspired by visits to European and Asian spas as well as old-world apothecaries, and puts to work the relationships with producers and manufacturers Sherri has developed over a 20-year career as an aesthetician. Her line is made in small batches, free of animal products, sodium lauryl sulfate, parabens, and other potentially toxic ingredients. The collection includes hand and body lotions and scrubs for men and women; prices are between $22 and $25.

Also this Friday, Topshop will launch its British music culture collection at just eight Nordstrom stores in the US, and San Francisco is one of them. Head to the San Francisco Centre for women's and men's designs plus accessories and beauty items that celebrate classic British tailoring and sportswear, curated by Topshop's director of creative projects, Olivia Kim. Prefer to shop from your couch? Find the collection online here.

Heidi Says has closed its casual shop on Fillmore and folded it into its collections store, which is just down the street at 2426 Fillmore. No more running down the street—you can now find your formal and weekend wear in one spot.

Flowers may be traditional for Valentine's Day, but San Francisco's BloomThat never offers up the same old. Special for the holiday, The Romy is a bouquet of orange tulips coupled with a lavender candle from Simple Goods Supply, Compartes Chocolate Bar, Malin + Goetz hand lotion & set of Tattly friendship bracelet temporary tattoos for $55 (for your Michelle, of course). The Huntley is a mixed bouquet of roses at a bargain ($75) that you can pre-order now, or get same-day delivery in 90 minutes—a forgetful boyfriend's savior.

On Sunday, February 15, Joy Bianchi will open the doors of her usually by-appointment-only Helpers House of Couture to shoppers from 9:30am until 4pm. Stop by 2608 Fulton for an unbelievable collection (three floors) of vintage Chanel, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Prada, and much more—there's a men's section, too.
