$5 Saturday Admission to the de Young and Legion of Honor
If you're not island hopping this weekend at the TI Music Fest, add high art to your agenda and take advantage of this great deal: $5 admission this Saturday, 10/16, to both the de Young and the Legion of Honor in celebration of two important anniversaries for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
We won't bore you with too many details, but five years ago, the de Young reopened in that famously designed (Herzog & de Meuron) black building, now a landmark in Golden Gate Park. And 40 years ago, the de Young partnered with Lincoln Park's presitgious Legion of Honor to form FAMSF, brinigng city residents the best in antiquities, European art, and works from the Americas, Africa, and the Pacific alongside graphic art, costumes, and more contemporary collections.
Don't get too excited—this golden ticket doesn't grant you admission to the Post-Impressionism exhibit, but you'll have access to the de Young's permanent collection as well as the Legion's opening day of "Japanesque: The Japanese Print in the Era of Impressionism."
