Design District Dwellers Raise a Cup to San Francisco Art

Design District Dwellers Raise a Cup to San Francisco Art

One warm, clear Friday afternoon, Illy drew worker bees out of their Design District buildings and into the parking lot outside The NWBLK for Art in the Streets, a relaxed day of creativity, espresso, food trucks, and cocktails. As a part of Illy's Art of Weekending series, Art in the Streets was the perfect opportunity to elevate a typical day into something social and unique. Local artist Ricky Watts strapped on his face mask, grabbed his spray paint cans, and worked his magic to create an art instillation on-site as he covered dozens of Illy espresso cans with his colorful designs.

Craftsman & Wolves, Casey’s Pizza, and Bobcha provided an array of artisanal bites that paired equally well with the performance and the complimentary Illy espresso and coffee, served by master barista Giorgio Milos. Perhaps inspired by Craftsman's Rebel Within treat, several visitors played hooky from work for the rest of the beautiful afternoon.

As day turned into night, guests finshed their cappuccinos and switched to the evening's beer cocktail of choice: savory-sweet Blue Moon Mountain Abbey Ale teamed with a shot of espresso. Pretty sure we've found our new fall beverage. illy.com/weekend
