SF-Based Soma Water Comes to the Aid of Folks in Flint, Michigan

Soma Water just keeps on giving: Not only are the San Francisco brand's water filters good for the environment and a chic upgrade on the ole Brita, the company is now donating proceeds from sales to help relief efforts in Flint, Michigan, where lead contamination to the water is wreaking havoc on the local community.

The stylish water brand has teamed with an equally stylish juice brand, Los Angeles–based Juice Served Here (JSH), to launch a limited-edition rose water with aloe. For each $4 bottle sold, $1 will be donated to relief efforts in Flint, where contaminated drinking water has affected nearly 12,000 children and resulted in 10 deaths so far. The proceeds will support access to drinkable water, medical care, and assist with funeral costs for families who've lost loved ones.

"Safe drinking water is a basic human right," writes JSH on its website, noting the alkalizing, anti-inflammatatory, anxiety reducing qualities of its rose water.

Then, come April, SOMA will also partner with the Community Foundation of Greater Flint to donate $5 for every SOMA black pitcher ($39) purchased through the company's website. The pitcher's sustainable filters rid water of chlorine and less than desirable odors for the purest tasting water. Plus, did we mention it looks very cool on the dinner table?
