Vanishing of the Bees at 18 Reasons

We've all heard about the problems plaguing bees in America, but the documentary Vanishing of the Bees, which follows two commercial beekeepers and their struggle to overcome colony collapse. The film will be screened at 18 Reasons on September 2 from 7-9 p.m.; admission is $5.

Spaghetti Suppers at Heart

Though you may think of Wednesday as spaghetti night, at Mission wine bar Heart they've chosen Sunday for their pasta promotion. Eat a spaghetti (vegetarian or meat) dinner, along with salad and garlic bread, all for $15 and drink specially-priced glasses of wine. May we suggest Chianti?

Food Heroes at Terroir

Writer Georgia Pellegrini celebrates the launch of her book, Food Heroes: 16 Culinary Artists Preserving Traditions, on September 8 at SoMa wine bar Terroir. She'll be on hand to sign books, and a handful of local food artisans, including Four Barrel coffee, Charles Chocolate and Pizza Politana will be serving refreshments.
