Silicon Valley Eats: Oysters and a Manresa Bakery

Silicon Valley Eats: Oysters and a Manresa Bakery

By

Here's a pair of destination-worthy South Bay openings to distract you from the stress, and all that rain.

Mountain View is now home to Shell Shock — a brand new oyster bar and restaurant that opened its doors earlier this week. The extensive, playful menu features more than 20 styles of oysters for your bivalve-consuming pleasure, including an large selection of boozy shooters. Their full menu features everything from bone-in rib eye to crudo to lobster poutine; they also have a daily happy hour from 3:30 to 6:30pm, and a late night brunch menu, served after 9:30pm. Oh, plus daily oyster and champagne specials, too (a thousand times yes). 124 Castro Street, Mountain View

ManresaBread, the brick-and-mortar bakery from the star-studded Manresa team, is getting ready to open their doors on Santa Cruz Avenue in Los Gatos. The bakery (and nearby commissary kitchen) is giving Manresa head baker Avery Ruzicka the chance to expand her repertoire of croissants, sweet and salty pastries, muffins, and of course, obscenely good fresh baked breads. They're putting the finishing touches on the bakery as we speak; in the meantime, sample the goods at their Silicon Valley farmers market appearances and occasional pop-ups. Keep an eye on the opening date on Twitter
