The Future of SF Fashion Starts Now

By

Thursday marks the start of our absolute favorite time of year for emerging San Francisco style: student fashion show season.

And to kick things off on a well-heeled foot, SF State University Apparel Design and Merchandising students are joining forces with the Fashion Network Association and Wee Scotty to showcase their collections at Runway 2010 Nouvelle.

The ever-ambitious students at SFSU have created this year's show from the ground up, handling everything from set design to promotion to the over 150 designs coming down the runway. What's even cooler is that they've invited an even younger generation of SF designers to share the spotlight. Ten designers ages 6-13 will be showing their designs thanks to Lynne Gallagher and her interactive retail and sewing facility, Wee Scotty.

Tickets for the event are a reasonable $25 for a seat (with raffle ticket included) and $15 for standing room, with a percentage of the proceeds benefitting St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco.  A word of advice: it's set to sell out so we highly suggest buying them ASAP.

We'll see you there!

Runway 2010 Nouvelle, Doors at 7 p.m., Show at 7:30 p.m., The Galleria at SFDC, 101 Henry Adams St., at Alameda St. (408-348-5412).
