First Mobile Meditation Space Launches in the Bay Area

By

New meditation concept PauseNow is rolling into the Bay Area.

The 27-foot bus is fully outfitted with personal meditation pods and mindfulness technology, making for a quiet space in the thick of urban life where the stressed-out can enjoy 15 minutes of peace in their day before returning to work recharged and refreshed.

Founder Jackie Corwin knows the feeling. A successful banker at Wells Fargo, she discovered for herself the benefits of meditation about 12 years ago. Afflicted by daily migraines triggered by work-related stress, she set up a small meditation space in an alcove of her office building. She meditated there frequently and soon her headaches disappeared. Inspired by this positive experience, she decided to leave her 30-year banking career and launch PauseNow to share meditation with more people.

PauseNow is a meditation space built for accessibility, convenience and comfort. It contains seven private spaces where guests can meditate for up to 15 minutes. Each space is outfitted with a comfortable seat, a cushion and blanket, a tablet computer containing a menu of meditations, and noise-canceling headphones.

The PauseNow bus will stop at designated spots in downtowns, corporate campuses, hospitals, schools, farmers markets and conventions around the Bay Area. It can be booked by companies that wish to offer meditation as a wellness perk for employees. (Just shoot an email to jackie@pausenowbus.com). PauseNow goes beyond the 15 minutes of meditation.
