The 44th annual Winter Open Studios launches this weekend at the ICB Art Center. Over 80 artists will exhibit sculpture, photography, jewelry and other artwork inspired by the musical theme of 4x4 time, and it all takes place in a historic World War II-era industrial building. There will be live acoustic music and a special group show in Gallery 111 that will highlight the influence of music on art called "Rhythm and Hues." If you prefer your holiday gifts to be on the crafty side, skip the stuffy mall and head to the beach to peruse the Muir Beach Quilters Holiday Arts Fair. Over 30 local vendors from Marin and the Bay Area will be hawking their crafty wares and artwork with the scenery of Muir Beach as their backdrop. Noshing will be provided by Barbary Coast Bistro with coffee and tea available at Cafe Q. Free, Sat 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sun 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Muir Beach Community Center, 19 Seascape Drive, Muir Beach.

The most wonderful time of year includes music and lots of it. The Marin Symphony puts on its Holiday Concert by Candlelight where you can expect many of your favorite holiday classics.
