Who doesn't have fond memories of gluing together ramshackle gingerbread houses with snow-white frosting and candy decor in elementary school? Well, the gingerbread architects at the Palace Hotel are lightyears ahead in their mastery of building starchy structures than we ever could have imagined, and this Friday, November 26th you can see their work on full display and vote for which you think is the most magnificent until December 31st, all for a good cause.

Sneak away from the Black Friday hordes and duck into the Palace Hotel's lobby, where all the action is taking place. Participants are matched with members of the hotel's culinary team to design and decorate their cake mansions. We at 7x7 will be there, building a giant gingerbread City Hall, orchestrated by Palace Hotel's pastry chef, Beat Wirz! We know you want to catch a glimpse of that.

For every vote, money is raised and sent to the non-profit they've chosen to donate to this holiday season. For example, voting for 7x7's sweet City Hall will help contribute to the San Francisco Travel Association's scholarship fund. You can also enter to win weekend stays at the Palace Hotel, or brunch at the Garden Court. The top three gingerbread houses that win the most votes get an additional check from the hotel to give to their charities.
