If you haven't paid a visit to Tedda Hughes' eponymous shop on Polk Street, you're missing out. The boutique, gallery and artist space is truly one-of-a-kind.

With avant-garde and designer clothing filling the racks, original local artists' work donning the walls, seamstresses helming the sewing machines in the front of the store, and occasionally buskers like firespinners performing out front, this whimsical shop of curiosities is never devoid of creativity.

Pop by this Saturday evening for an opening reception for a handful of artists; Julie Michelle, the photographer behind the increasingly-popular I Live Here: SF project, will showcase the best of her urban landscape for the first time alongside exhibits by Lina Chang, Maureen Shields, Nicole Lincoln and Wrenay Gomez Charlton. The drag queen, Miss GAPA 2009, will also be performing, and there will be complimentary refreshments for all.

Tedda's gallery boutique is located at 1623 Polk St. (between Sacramento and Clay Sts.). The reception runs from 7 to 10pm.
